New qcFX. Another variation on the Iterator theme, this time using QC 3s new Cylinder primitive.
Up to 50 cylinder objects are nested inside each other, with the input image mapped onto their surfaces. Controls allow rotation of the elements, and incremental offsetting and rotation of each cylinder. I’ve also made use of the option to set the top and bottom width of the cylinders seperately, so you can create cone shapes too.
No coding in this one at all, just lots of nested macros!

Hi Toneburst
After setting up a new mac recently your iterator plugs and sphere/cube array plugs for vdmx don’t behave. The iterators are fine until I hit the mirror button then the iterations have a white background. I can still see the image but it’s like it’s iterating white and not black/alpha. Strangely though, it’s fine when I video tap it to another layer. The array ones will only do solid colour and won’t modulate their size to input anymore. I’m on snowleo and the latest vdmx beta. Any ideas?
I’ll have to have a look at this at some point. In fact, I need to revisit this plugin. I have a more recent version with more options.

Thanks toneburst (we got a name thing goin on) I’ve since spoken to Ray from Vidvox and he’s shown me that there’s an occasional thing that pops up with QC integration into VDMx where you need to manually put everything inside a render in image, as it won’t see the consumer as a canvas. I’ve got them working again but they do seem slower. Look forward to the new versions!
It’s a shame you have to jump through the extra hoop of rendering to image. Especially so as you lose the benefit of multisample anti-aliasing, which is a major issue. I kinda wish Ray would sort this out- you used to have to render to image, then you didn’t, and MSAA was working, and now you do again…
