Isosurface Dances To Music on Vimeo

Just (finally) posted my first couple of video on Vimeo.

The first one’s just a test of the QC Movie Exporter plugin (which seems to work pretty well, shame there’s no audio), the second is the result of some initial experiments with the Isosurface raytracer, with parameters synced to audio levels in VDMX, and the virtual camera controlled by the SpaceNavigator.

Audio is ‘Mourning Gates’ by Hecq, from the album Bad Karma.

Click the Vimeo link in the controller bar to see a slightly bigger, widescreen version.

    Ooops,

please ignore the above (unless you’re interested in exporting high-res. screenshots of your QTZs, of course).

What I should have said is the Movie Exporter plugin in the the folder
    /Developer/Examples/Quartz Composer/Plug-Ins/

You’ll have to open the XCode project in there and Build the plugin, then drop the built plugin into the QC plugins folder.

Did you get the Movie Exporter working?

When I learn a bit of ObjectiveC, I’ll probably modify that plugin to allow changing the CODEC and quality settings. Should be a nice easy project once I’ve worked my way through my ObjC book.
