GLSL Lighting/Surface Shaders Preview

Here are some screenshots of the first volume of GLSL surface/lighting shaders I’ve been working on. As I mentioned before, they’re based on either HLSL code from the NVIDIA Shader Library, or code from the GLSL Orange Book. I’ve decided to release the QTZ now, even though some of the shaders probably still need tweaking. Hopefully someone out there will find a use for them…

These are all pretty basic 3D lighting effects. I’ll collect-together some more complex ones for vol.2.

You can find the QTZ in my Box.net widget on the right.
Hope someone finds it useful!

    Cheers felix.

Funny thing about that venerable teapot- it does make shaders look nice!
I was just trying a couple of the more interesting ones on the Superformula mesh, and I have to say, they look a lot nicer on the teapot!

i manage to place cylinders, cubes, planes and spheres etc inside the shaders / macros, but nothing when trying the desaxismundi, superformula or obj loader. i certainly know this is because i have no concept of what i am doing, but i’d really like to find out..

made it with obj loader now.. really beautiful! light designing.. any chance to have transparency? i guess this doesn’t have to do with color in this context?

    Hiya 639me,

cheers! You can achieve a kind of transparency by setting the mesh (or 3D object) blend mode to Add.

    Hope this helps,
